Personal Bio Hello! I'm Prakash Giri, a passionate follower of Jesus Christ born in June 1990 in the remote village of Sindhupalchowk, Nepal. Growing up in a Hindu family surrounded by mixed cultural traditions, my journey to faith wasn't straightforward—but it was divinely orchestrated. I became a believer on September 25, 2012, and was baptized on April 14, 2013. Since then, I've been walking the path of Jesus, discovering that He chose me before the creation of the world (Ephesians 1:4). My life's testimony is one of God's persistent love breaking through cultural barriers, personal doubts, and intellectual conclusions. Having recently completed my Bachelor of Divinity and received official authorization to use CLI (Christian Leaders Institute) teaching materials, I am now fully equipped to bring sound theological education to my homeland. I have also officially registered my Soul Center with CLI as "The Royal Ambassador" —a mission hub dedicated to raising up the next generation of Nepali Christian leaders. My heart's desire is to see 1 million lives impacted through Christian leadership training in the Nepali language. My journey from a remote Himalayan village to international ministry has shaped my understanding of how God works across cultures, circumstances, and generations. My Story: From Hindu Village to Christian Leadership The Early Years I was born into a Hindu family in Sindhupalchowk, a remote village in Nepal. My childhood was shaped by the rhythms of traditional beliefs, village life, and a growing curiosity about spiritual things. My uncle was the first in my family to encounter Jesus while working abroad—an encounter that eventually brought transformation to our entire household. A Family Transformed When my uncle returned to Nepal after receiving Christ, my family wasn't happy with his decision. But his testimony reached my elder sister, who began walking miles to a faraway church. She received Jesus, and I witnessed something remarkable: when our cows or buffalo fell ill, my sister would pray, and they would be completely healed the next day. I saw the same power that Hindu priests claimed to have—but this came through simple prayer in Jesus' name. The Cost of Following Christ I watched as family members who became Christians were ignored and rejected by relatives and society. I was an eyewitness to the cost of discipleship in a Hindu-majority culture. These experiences planted seeds of both curiosity and resistance in my heart. Searching for Truth Growing up, I developed a personal philosophy: that there was only one God, and different religions simply called Him by different names. I believed in "positive vibes" from God and "negative vibes" from evil—and that everything else was human-made tradition. The Turning Point When my mother became seriously ill, doctors couldn't find the cause. My sister prayed, and her pastor came to pray. By Saturday, my mother had attended church and received healing. My younger siblings began attending church too, and soon we had daily fellowship at home praying for our family's salvation. My father eventually visited the church to debate the pastor—but came home with a changed heart, following Jesus. I was the only one left who hadn't surrendered. A Hardened Heart Despite seeing God's power in my home, I closed my heart. I told myself that religions were just about creating positive vibes—nothing more. If God existed, I reasoned, He would reveal Himself to me in His own way, not through what others were saying. The Weekend Drinking Culture As I grew older, I began drinking socially on weekends with friends. It started as fun, but I learned that "a start is always small"—addiction creeps in before you realize it. I worked in a trekking shop in Thamel, where a lady once came in and told me, "God loves you very much." I was rude and dismissed her, explaining my beliefs about Shiva. She left disappointed. A Sister's Faith and a Prophet's Word My elder sister became sick and asked me to take her to church. I didn't want to, but I had no choice. During the service, a prophecy came: "Dear son, listen to me, open your heart." I ignored it. Later, during an all-night prayer, God spoke to my heart: "Son, I have chosen you. There is no option for you—whether you believe in your good time or your bad time, the choice is yours." The spiritual pain was real. Choosing Jesus was hard when I had other options. But finally, my heart said: Choose Him in good time so that He will care for you in every situation and never leave you. The Day Everything Changed On September 25, 2012—the day of Nepal's Bada Dashain festival, when people receive blessings from elders—I received a greater blessing. I accepted Jesus as my Lord and Savior at Dharmikta Mandali under Rev. Pastor Padam Parajuli. Reading Revelation later, I realized that believers receive the stamp of the Holy Spirit. That day, the truth of life won in my life. Learning to Follow Jesus, Not People After my conversion, I met a great warrior of Christ who had planted over 300 churches across Nepal—but had backslidden. Hearing his struggles and what was happening inside churches broke my heart. I realized that if I look to pastors or believers, I might fall. I needed to follow Jesus and the Bible, not what people said. A Vision for Nepal A missionary team from Brazil received a vision from God for me: that I would become a "lighthouse in the ocean." This challenged me to grow in biblical knowledge and spiritual power. On April 14, 2013—Nepali New Year—I was baptized, symbolizing my complete surrender to God's control. The Call to Teach While working in Qatar, I encountered educated people following secularism and realized my own lack of deep biblical knowledge. I prayed for God to provide opportunities to study His Word and become a warrior for those dying without Jesus. Through struggles and obstacles, I've discovered that prayer saves me from evil at every step. A Family Legacy of Prayer My uncle and sister prayed for our family for 16 years before seeing breakthrough. This taught me that prayers are never wasted. God works in His time and answers in His way.
